Yes, we require x-rays for all new patients on the first visit, except for pregnant mothers and children under the age of 8.
Although x-rays do give off ionization radiation, it is very little exposure. This amount of exposure is perfectly safe. In fact, more radiation can be given off from flying in an airplane.
